Niche Pokemon List

Sixty-seven niche Pokemon you can filter by type and generation. Every row carries a source count. Only Skitty has a detail page, so the other names stay as rows instead of empty profiles.

What is in the table

Each species row was read from Pokemon Database and checked on Serebii on 5 Nov 2026. Base stat totals matched across those two pages, so I kept a single number. National dex number, generation, types, abilities, and the one-line niche note are the columns I trust enough to print.

Category labels are editorial: design, competitive, or mechanic. A Pokemon can carry more than one. I counted 26 design, 33 competitive, and 13 mechanic tags. That adds up past 67 because of the overlap, and I am leaving the overlap visible instead of forcing one label.

Search volume is not a column of zeros. Skitty is the only species in our keyword export with a published 28-day figure, 46,800. Gliscor and Roserade are marked under 50 for that window. Everyone else was absent from the export, so the cell stays on the volume note rather than becoming a made-up rank.

How to use the filters

The type pages are the same table with one type already chosen: niche fire type pokemon, niche water type pokemon, and niche normal type pokemon. Starters live on their own page because “starter” is not a type. Role names link onward from niche pokemon competitive.

Filters run in the browser after the full table is already in the page. With scripts off, you still see every row. The address with a query string is a view of this page, and the canonical address is the one without parameters.

FAQ

How many niche Pokemon are on the list?

67 species, sourced from Pokemon Database and Serebii. The information architecture called for about 150. I did not invent the rest.

Which niche Pokemon have their own page?

Only Skitty. A detail page needs search demand, unique fields, and enough of its own words. The other 66 stay in this table.

Can I sort by win rate?

No. This table does not have a win-rate column. Where a competitive role exists, it is named in words and linked from the role dictionary.
